Panchgani Favourites

Panchgani is a small hill-station discovered by the British in the 1860's, as a summer resort to escape the heat of the Indian plains. Nestled at an altitude of 1,292 metres/4,242 feet above sea-level, it is 270 kms by road from Bombay (now Mumbai) - and derives it's name from the 5 small hills that surround it. 'Panch' in local Marathi language means 5 and 'gani' means hills with a plateau, also known as Table-Land. It enjoys salubrious, cool and dry climate, with annual rainfall not exceeding 70 inches.

It's quaint bazaar (shopping strip) houses some shops as old as the town.
One can experience an unique shopping blast!!!
